After-Action" Briefing:
Strategic Preparation,
Public Messaging, Use of Force Considerations, and Media Engagement
Fall Conference panel
discussion followed by Q&A

This
two-hour training identifies lessons learned as a result of the protests
that occurred in Portland on August 17. A panel will cover details
regarding intel, planning, use of force considerations, public messaging
strategy, navigating the politics of these events, and adjustments to the
event management philosophy of PPB. Protests like the one that occurred on
August 17 and several previous protests are providing opportunities to
improve and increase the effectiveness of the policing response to these
types of public safety challenges.
