DPSST Elected Officials and Community Partners Academy
This Academy will allow elected officials and community partners that you work with to have the opportunity to learn about DPSST's roles and responsibilities and those which are yours, the employers.  The program will also offer a walking tour of the Oregon Public Safety Academy.

IACP Conference Highlight
Members of OACP and OSSA presented a workshop on recruiting and hiring at the 2019 IACP Conference in Chicago. The workshop titled "Recruiting: What's Working, What's Not?" was moderated by DPSST Director Eriks Gabliks. Agencies showcased were Woodburn PD by Chief Jim Ferraris, Eugene PD by Chief Chris Skinner, Bend PD by Chief Jim Porter, and the Washington County Sheriff's Office by Lts. Degman and Massey. Director Gabliks also gave an overview of DPSST's role in recruiting, training, and info about the Oregon Jobs website. For the last workshop at the end of the last day of the conference, it was a full room. Great job by all!

The OACP congratulates Chief Lee Dobrowolski on his retirement from the Hillsboro Police Department.  And, also congratulates Deputy Chief Jim Coleman for being selected as the Interim Police Chief. Chief Schutz (Forest Grove PD) presented Chief Dobrowolski with an OACP plaque at his retirement celebration Friday, October 25.
