OACP
News

Hello Everyone,
We are in the midst of the fall season and we have all adjusted for
students returning back to school and for the upcoming fall holidays. It
was great to see all of the photos of National Coffee with a Cop on OACP's
Facebook page.
The International Association Chiefs of Police Conference in Chicago is
October 26 - 29. Congratulations to Chief Ken Rueben from Philomath for
receiving the OACP Scholarship to IACP. Chiefs and staff, who are attending
IACP, please be on the lookout for topics and stand-out speakers that we
could bring back to Oregon for one of our conferences. Thank you once again
to LeadsOnline for being the sponsor of our Oregon Night Dinner. To continue reading, click

Nick Koumalatsos was a key-note
speaker at OACP's Fall conference. Kevin Campbell, OACP's Executive
Director, was able to grab some time with him and ask him a few questions
to identify key take-aways and practical applications from his
presentation. A special shout out to Curtis Henckel from DPSST who carved
out the time to record and edit this video interview.

The OACP is proud to partner
with RALI Oregon as they seek to prevent opioid misuse by properly
disposing of unused medications. RALI is providing resources and
opportunities for departments to participate in "Prescription
Drug Take Back Day" Saturday, October 26. Please consider
participating in one of the following ways:
Prescription Drug Take Back Table: RALI Oregon can host a table at your existing
department Take Back Day event anytime Oct. 24-27. The RALI team will
distribute drug disposal packages and information about preventing opioid
abuse in the community.
Take Back Day Messaging: RALI Oregon can provide you with social media
content (Social Media Tool kit) to share on your Department's channels
about the importance of safe disposal of prescriptions and opioid abuse.
Drug Disposal Packages: RALI Oregon can provide your department with
disposal packages for your own distribution. RALI will provide this pouches
as a donation free of charge and deliver them straight to your
office.

We are aware of many
agencies that are already promoting and planning to participate in the
"Prescription Drug Take Back Day." If your agency will be taking
