Salem Police officers recognized for heroics in the line of duty
Nearly 50 officers were recognized on Friday during the Salem Police Department's 2019 awards and promotions ceremony, held at Salem Public Library.

Bend police balance growth, rising calls for service
On any given day, Bend Police Department officers respond to more than 200 calls for service. The department's goal is to assign no more than nine of those calls to any given officer on his or her shift. A rapidly growing population is making the department's math more difficult, but so far, Bend PD's 102 sworn officers are keeping pace with the growth.

Milwaukee police officers build basketball hoop, host block party for neighborhood kids

Milwaukee District 3 police officers Devon Williams, Frank Williams and Jamar Lucky like to get out of their squad car and play with neighborhood kids. One day in late May, during a pickup game with three neighborhood kids, they realized the basketball hoop the kids were using was about to collapse.
